This look was created for my APD 252 class the second semester of my sophomore year. In this class we were introduced to the process of flat pattern drafting and manipulation. The first half of the semester was dedicated to working with half scale patterns and the latter half was devoted to our Identity and Design project.
For this project we were instructed to choose 3 keywords related to our personal brand and identity. During the ideation phase of our project we incorporated these keywords into prompts provided to an AI image generator to aid us in coming up with ideas for our project. We were encouraged to provide corrections and preferences for color and materials to the AI to hone the vision of our project. The three key words I chose were versatile, spunky and perfectionist. I chose these word after coming up with a short list and asking my classmates to pick which ones were the most accurate. These attributes reflect the wide variety of inspirations and talents I possess, and my at times unorthodox yet intentional actions and choices.
For this project I chose to create a size adjustable skirt made from a light weight denim. The denim I purchased was then dyed with pink fabric dye to create a rich purple color.
